The Pitch Deck that Raised $1,600,000

Thomas Percy Kim - Isle Child

Thanks for grabbing this! Here's the exact pitch deck I used to raise $1.6 million for my first feature film, ISLE CHILD.

No famous actors attached, studio backing, agents or managers. Just a strong premise, a great producer, and a financing strategy that most filmmakers have never heard of...

Check it out (and steal it) here:

A few things worth paying attention to:
❤️

Lead with pathos.

The deck opens with the director's statement and the personal story behind the film. Most pitch decks bury the "why" behind the logline and jump straight to numbers... but people only care because you care.

📊

Pick realistic comps, not unicorns.

Most filmmakers put "unicorn films" like GET OUT as their comps. While you may see parallels in the creative, your $500K drama is likely not a close comp. Any semi-professional in the industry sniffs that out as a yellow flag. Use AI or tools like IMDb Pro to find films that match your actual genre, budget, and scope.

🤝

Make your team page as shiny as possible.

My producer had A24 and Sundance credits. My EP had a Grand Jury Prize. You can bring on an Executive Producer in exchange for a small piece of equity or a friendly favor. Even one strong name transforms how your whole deck reads to a cold investor, producer, or executive.
